A Spiritual Reminder

I was thinking this afternoon about this building project we are in the midst of. We are VERY excited about the future of its completion, but there are still a lot of unknowns, and I admit I am sometimes worried about them. Unknowns such as, shipment arrival date, weather, travel plans, insurance etc. Then the verse came to mind... "Be still and know that I am God." Then the LORD reminded me that the purpose of this project is not ultimately to have a residence for our family or even a church meeting location, but the purpose is that God would be glorfied and that souls would be saved through this ministry.

One of the lessons I have learned in my 3+ years living in the Arctic, is that things often do NOT go as planned and one must be flexible and PATIENT!! As with this project and the many hours of work ahead and the thousands of dollars spent, things might not got exactly the way we/I want them to, but I serve a God who is never surprised; He is never caught off guard. He knows what lies ahead, now if I can just get it through my thick head and "...be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication let (my) requests be made known unto God."

Thank you for your prayers! Keep 'em coming!

Update

Just wanted to post an update on the official dates for the large work crew to be here in Rankin Inlet. They will be here from September 4-18!! We praise the Lord that at least 5 men will be here to help during that time.

PLEASE PRAY... The barge company has recently informed us that they are going to later then they had originally planned. We always plan for some time in case they are late, but they have had A LOT more issues this year and our shipping container, and 9 or so crates/pallets, are scheduled to arrive the same day the crew does, Sept. 4. PLEASE PRAY that God would allow this estimated date to be indeed when the barge does come, as 99% of our building materials are on it, AS WELL AS, the food for the crew.

Additionally, we are EXCITED that a smaller crew consisting of my father, and possibly another man, are coming the day before the large crew leaves, to help with some of the finish work in the house!!

We've ALREADY seen God do some great things and we KNOW He is in charge and will work all this out for His glory.

Some more work accomplished...

Our Electrician, Frank Kelly, arrived yesterday (Monday) and we have been quite busy doing some de-construction...pulling out wires and removing receptacle boxes. It has been a profitable two days! He leaves tomorrow around 3pm.
